My soup is my family

Welcome to my blog!  This is my first attempt, but with any luck it may prove interesting.

Do you remember when your mom made homemade soup?  My mom still does and I do too.  The interesting thing about homemade soup is that is never the exact same twice.  Sometimes you throw in some chicken, sometimes it might be pork.  Sometimes you have some noodles, sometimes rice.  Veggies often vary by what is on hand or in season and quantities available.  Spices are rarely measured - just added to season and enrich the flavor.

My family is my soup.  My husband and three kids keep me on my toes.  Just like homemade soup, nothing is ever the same twice.  Well, maybe the mess on the floor or kitchen counter...but it is home.  Some days have a bit more spice, others are a bit more bland.  Somedays there is a lot more corn (you should hear some of the jokes - from both Darby and the kids).

As I continue my adventures in motherhood, my family and I continue to simmer in the pot.  With any luck, my little Cook's will turn out great!
